Bodywork is Ortho-Bionomy = Magic!

Ortho-Bionomy is a therapeutic approach that gently guides the body back to its natural state of balance and ease. By understanding physical and energetic patterns, it encourages the body to recognize and correct its own functioning. During sessions, clients remain comfortably clothed as the practitioner evaluates the body's presentation, checks tissue condition and function, and assesses range of motion and tension.

The hallmark of Ortho-Bionomy is its gentle, non-invasive techniques. Joints are held in comfortable positions, followed by gentle compression and holding for short durations, typically 10 to 30 seconds, always without pain or force. This approach is especially safe and suitable for pregnant individuals.

Clients often describe the experience as melting into the table, as the practitioner intuitively and skillfully moves around them, much like playing an instrument, adapting techniques based on what the body needs. This modality can address various issues including joint and muscle pain, neck and back pain, headaches, and conditions associated with stress, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Ortho-Bionomy sessions create a calm, still space where the body can release tension and stress, transitioning from a "fight or flight" response to a "rest and restore" state, facilitating healing. Dr. Arthur Lincoln Pauls, the founder, integrated his background in Judo and Osteopathy to develop this approach in the 1970s, inspired by Dr. Lawrence Jones' work on Spontaneous Release by Positioning.

Investing in your well-being with Ortho-Bionomy typically costs $105 per one-hour session. For optimal results, a program of three weekly sessions initially, followed by a two weekly, and then transitioning to monthly maintenance, can be recommended. This structured approach allows for deeper re-education of the nervous system, helping clients rediscover their innate ability to return to comfort and balance.
